looks like I have been given an old mx5.
Bodywork is a bit poor and needs the rear arches and maybe one sill and a front wing.
I have a mig welder and am pretty good with it but have never done body repairs.
Are there any diy guides for doing this repair, is it fairly straight forward.
Are the front wings bolt one?
Thanks

Mike

The front wings are bolt on not sure about how much of a job the rear arch is though.

looking at a lot of old posts on this topic I have only found people having the work done not DIY would really like to hear from anyone who has done this themselves.

Does the rust effect the structure or just the panels? How bad would it need to be for an MOT fail?

It doesn't need to be that bad to fail an mot if the mot guy knows what he's doing. I think the rule is no rust within 6" of the seatbelt floor mounting point and that is very close to the rear of the sills.
