I have been toying with getting a Mk1 MX5/Eunos as a fun third car and fancy the idea of an RS Limited, if only for its rarity.

Does anyone know this car and know why it hasn't sold? The prices seems about right, although it isn't a great time of year to be selling.

I paid less than that for a Mk2 1.8 RS Ltd edition with the same mileage on a T Plate....looks overpriced to me or I just got a bargain....

I don't think you can really compare MK2 prices with MK1 prices. I think £2.5k - £3k is a bit more realistic. I think a few people have viewed this and I beleive it requires a new roof (not that much of an issue) and its had quite a few different owners in the last 3/4 years. But if you're interested, view it and make an offer. As you say it's been for sale for a while and they might welcome the cash just before xmas!!...........

Suggest you contact the seller and ask for honest opinion of bodywork condition (scratches, stone chips, minor dings) and how much life there are in the consumables; brake pads/discs and tyres so you won't have a wasted journey to view.

No I don't - I am just suggesting that if the price isn't outrageous and the car hasn't sold for quite a while, it could be condition and/or imminent consumables expense putting people off is all...

Agreed, however, which would you rather have;

This RS with part history, or this,

Totally different cars.

The RS is a £2500 car with £1000 seats so no I wouldn't buy it I'd stick Exige seats in a £2500 car (as I have)

The BBR is a £1000 car with £2500 (?) of extras, great if you want a Turbo.

But I'd buy an SC'd 5 !

biggrin

You're right, I posted my comment last night after too much Tetley's and realised this morning it was a daft thing to say.

It's not that daft. It's a very real choice. Both cars are available and it's all up to the buyer to decide which they might want.
