MX5 seats size Mk1, Mk2 a& Mk2.5.
Discussion
The seats in my TVR Chimaera are getting a bit worn and I'm considering replacing them with MX5 seats. I have always found the MX5 seats to be fairly comfortable, and while not full bucket seats would be more supportive than my old TVR seats. Also there are a number of companies (e.g the Cartrimmers) offering re-covering at sensible prices.
I have seen one TVR car fitted with MK2.5 MX5 seats and they suited the car quite well. However, the mk2.5 seats are proving quite difficult to get hold of so I am considering Mk1 or Mk2 seats as an alternative.
I just wanted to check if there was any difference in the dimensions of the seats between mk1, mk2 and mk2.5 models. Particularly the width at the back of the seat and the shoulder. Also wondered which of the models are considered to have the most supportive seats.
Any help would be much appreciated.

I'm fairly sure I could source a set of 2.5 seats but they aren't cheap as they are in demand from Mk1 / 2 owners.
I prefer the look of them but actually find the UK (separate headrest type) Mk1 / 2 seats to be more supportive.
I haven't measured them but suspect the Mk2.5 are the same or slightly larger than the earlier seats although they are all interchangeable.

I have a pair of light grey heated leather Mk2.5 seats that I could be persuaded to part with
(the heating element will of course need the correct switch & wiring if you want to make it work).
They are all pretty much the same size but Mk2.5 seats are deeper so sit you a bit higher and give less leg-room in an MX5 - don't know if that's an issue with a TVR.

Personally I think that the later shape, Mk1 seats seem to be the best - IE the ones with the seperate headrest as fitted to later on UK MK1s it seems. Usually black leather.
Very few had black leather, I think it was only the Classic Ltd Ed.Although I do have a set for sale but want a std set in exchange really
