Hi. My MX is nearly 3 years old, thinking of extending warranty for maybe 12 or 24 months. Can't get a straight answer out of Mazda dealers - one says you can transfer warranty to new owner if you sell - the other suggests no way ????

Has anyone got the answer please.

I'm not aware of any particular issues with Mk3s so is an extended warranty really worth having?

Have to agree with you, car has been utterly Japanese reliable since day one. Thought might renew warranty though as possibly a good selling point in the future.

No buyer will expect a warranty on a car over 3 years old and due to the reliability of these cars I can't see that it would add at all to the value of the car. In fact if I was a buyer I'd be dubious of a car with an extended warranty as it might indicate that the owner has had reliability issues with it and felt it wise to extend the warranty...

Got through to Mazda UK who confirm prices 12m at £349 24m at £578 for continued warranty also confirm policy is transferable if you sell (private)

Disagree ref selling in the future, car with warranty has got to be a good thing for complete peace of mind. Interested party can always check with Mazda what if any work has been done to car..Besides my MX is getting a bit 'leggy' it's done 2600 miles in three years!!
