Insured with A Plan last year and was very impressed - decent price, good breakdown cover etc.

Had the renewel price and despite not claiming, so now having 5 years no claims, the price has gone up.

So i'm looking around again.... - any reccomendations - tried Flux who have beat A Plan but its still more than it was last year.

Can anyone reccomend limited mileage polcies or similar - the MX5 is now a second car and i'd be quite happy to limit mileage to 3000. However the car isn't garaged.

Cheers

Hey Dan,

We just insured with Swinton, and have a little tip....

We did a 'go-compare-meerkat-switch-u' search, where Swinton came up at about £240.

We then went to Swinton website direct and got a quote directly, came up at £215.

We then left it 45 minutes, as the I was getting the quotes, and OH was paying.

They called, offered us another £40 cashback if we took it that day, so ended up being £175 total.

Swinton also gave us their local office number in our town, and said to call them or drop in directly if we needed any more help, the number they gave us would go to the local office rather than a call centre abroad etc.

I've not placed a claim, so no idea if they're buggers, but as far as quotes and service goes so far, I've no complaints at all.

Weren't bothered it was a Eunos either!

Hi Dan,

Could you e-mail me your details, just so I can have a look at the file and see if any discounts have been missed.

Footman James turned out to be the cheapest.

on a limited to 5k policy, classic car insurance, including full breakdown cover (UK and Europe) and 30 days European cover

£227

Far cheaper than anyone else could get close too.

Thanks again to Matt for trying.

So when you renew don't stay with Performance Direct! MX5s probably aren't cars they specialise in as they aren't really "performance cars".
