Picking up a new sensible car tomorrow and then as soon as I've cleared the garage the Mazda can slide straight in ready for some winter tlc.

It needs a good wash/wax etc, i've got some new shocks and lowering springs to go on, bleed the brakes etc, change the diff and gearbox oil.

Then new wheels/tyres (15's of some description), roll bar/cage, new seats and harnesses and it will be ready for some track fun next summer!

Can't wait!

Damn, your new daily driver is rather more interesting than my £500 Audi 80!

I've noticed the first bit of salt on the roads this week, so its time to start using the Audi and look at doing some work on the roadster.

Brakes first I think - rebuild all the calipers, paint up, new hoses and put em all back together, then my other two main jobs I want to do are re-do all the underseal/rust protection, and get a full set of wishbones blasted/powdercoated and re-bushed.

Be interesting to see how you get on!

More pics here

It was my wifes Aunt's car... unfortunatly she lost her battle with cancer in October and wanted ,e to have the car.

She was a car nut and I had asked her in the past for first refusal if she decided to part company with it.

Nice.

That's the 5-door-wagon yes? I had one the same ("reddish blue") colour with the <ahem> gold wheels and a Scoobysport backbox* and it was great fun - enjoy!

'*a must-have buy btw, lovely offbeat boxer burble without being too intrusive.

It is indeed!

The backbox has a slight blow at the moment so that might be a good option.
