Hi All,

I've been offered another car for the princely sum of £0. If it all works out that would leave us with three cars.

Now I would use this car as a daily driver, leaving my wifes car (Focus Estate) as her run around and the Mazda as a fun toy.

Now there is three of us the Mazda perhaps won't get used as much as it currently does but with 191k on the clock perhaps that's no bad thing.

We'd like to use the MX5 for track days/hoons etc so I was considering moving it onto a classic policy. Both my wife and I have policies in our names so would a classic policy work?

If so any idea on roughly how much it would be? £150 or so?

I'm not sure about a specific "classic" policy but my MX5 is insured through the IAM scheme for social, domestic and private use only on a limited mileage of 5,000 at £150 for comprehensive cover. (But then again, I am terribly old - there have to be some advantages!)

Before you think Classic or Club insurance, try a quote with Swiftcover.com I got my MG insured there on a normal policy for less than the MGOC Scheme - strange but true!

We do have markets available for MX5's/Eunos's on classic policies. If you want me to get someone to call you just e-mail me your number and a time.

A Flux classic policy - limited miles, 5k pa. £205 no claims maintained, but not needed or protected. (so I can get another car if I want and have the NCB on that instead)
