My imported mx5 has oil pressure gauge that read 0 to 6 kg/cm. my car does 6 when its cold, then drop down to 2 when its reached full operating temp, when i shift gears, or let off throttle, it changes to 4, in middle.

Is that real oil pressure guage or "fake" ones?

If it was a fake one it would show 50% (ish) or nothing at all and wouldn't move when revving the engine wink

i think i must have a 'fake' gauge as its always just over halfway regardless. I did an oil and filter change (which incidentally was a ball ache getting to the filter and scratched my arm up on the plenum tongue out) and noticed no discernable movement...

Anyone know of a thread with pics on sender placement, thread type etc ? I might pick one up and update it - got a trackday later this month so might come in handy LOL

The sender's right next to the oil filter - not the job you want to be doing unless you're really, reallllllly keen on getting a real one smile

Bearing on how much of a ball-ache it is getting in there i might be inclined to use a sandwich plate and a few new gauges in the centre console and leave the standard one well alone biggrin
