Mk2 oil consumption

What is normal, given hard use and low-ish mileage engine 48k?

Pretty much zero consumption would be usual.

Hmm ok... I've put in half a litre, but only as I dont like it being towards low on the dipstick. In fairness to the car, I am not sure what the level was when I bought it, embarissingly only checked it on a bit of a slope before a ring trip, have done ten 'ring laps, one MOT car control day and as a result most of the time given it a pretty good work out... perhaps it wasnt quite at full to begin with? I'll keep an eye on it.

Trackdays etc are a little more than 'hard use'

Yes some consumption is ok.

My SC'd car could use half a litre or so on a track day but virtually none in std road use.

It also seems to depend upon the oil used, Halfords seems to be used more than other makes.

Ok, I am not too concerned about it now. Sorry, should have clarified hard use earlier, I like to enjoy my cars to their full potential, or atleast strive to get close to it. Hopefully will catch you for a quick chat at the Pheonix Fives meet?
