I have a '98 MkII with a Cobra alarm and remote central locking. The fob no longer seems to be operating and whilst I can open the door with the key I know it will set the alarm off. The car is currently directly under my 15 month old sleeping son, so I don't want it going off for 2 hrs.

There is some sort of manual alarm key attached to my fob - it looks like you stick it in a hole or adjacent to a sensor inside the car somewhere. Does anyone know where that manual override will be?

Many thanks

Usually the key socket is on the siren that's mounted underneath the bonnet.

Many thanks, I might wait until tomorrow morning, just in case.

I used to have a 2000 MK2 with a cobra alarm and on mine the override was in the centre console.
It looks like an audio jack socket into which you insert the bit you have on your keyring.

Yup - usually a little socket or connector - mine is inside the glovebox, could be there, under the dash, in the centre cubby...
