Bugger and blast.

Just when everything seems to be running well something like this happens.

Seems that the tail pipe - the bit that sticks out of the back at the bumper area has broken off, seem the pipe just behind it has corroded through.

And i didn't notice,so the hot exhaust has melted part of the rear bumper.

GRRRRRR.

Its made no difference at all to the sound and still runs fine.

So do i need to replace all the exhaust or can i just replace the rear section from the back box?

What do people reccomend?

Don't want to spend a fortune but the old exhaust did sound very nice - not sure what make it was doesn't seem to be branded.

And how easy is it to fit yourself? - either full exhaust or just a section?

I'm also on the look out for a rear bumper now - in white please.

It might actually be worth sourcing a new exhaust if you might be upgrading in the future anyway. I found one of the MX5Parts Dual Stainless exhausts, nearly new and boxed, on MX5Nutz for £120 delivered.

Haha - ditto.

OP, if you just want to buy a little longevity then like I say a Tip would work - I have my old one kicking around at work - can photo if you really need tomorrow.

Uncle Dave - how are you finding that Duallie?
I have always liked the looks of Duallies, but the noise is starting to get on my tits.
It 'does' sound nice - but too bloody loud.
Not too bad, it is a lot louder than I thought it would be but I can't say i'm too concerned. In fact i'm after a silenced decat, mainly to improve on pops/bangs biggrin
People say they tend to quieten down after they are used due to the carbon deposits within the exhaust so it might not remain this loud for long.

Dave.
