Roof Down Scores
Discussion
Well, seem to have had a couple of days of seeing lots (relatively) of fives on the way into/out of work:
Tuesday:
2 X Mk 1's - roof down
3 X Mk 3's, 1 roof up, 2 down.
Adding my Mk 1- well it hasn't done a journey this week with the roof up (including yesterday morning, when it rained half way to work, heavily. I cursed the traffic lights as I got a watering...)

Ho ho!
Altrezia - are you exceptionally tall? I find the only reason I look like I've been dragged through a hedge backwards when I get to work is because I already looked like that when I got into the car at home...
Don't get much buffeting, but I have got the 'tights stretched over a frame' wind blocker. (as someone called them)

I never go TO work with my roof down - in case I have to meet clients and what-not, and the dragged through a hedge backwards look wouldnt go down too well. Always down on the way home, even if spitting.
Same here. Roof down all the way home. I pass two other mxs on the way in and out of work, going the other way, both do the same. Up on the way in, down on the way out.Mind you, last weekend, leaving at Friday 6pm, I drove 250 miles through North wales, past manchester and towards Chesterfield all with the roof down. Beautiful, sunny evening, turning into night. Loved the night roof down experience. Especially on the Motorway, quite surreal.

That sounds fantastic! It's stuff like this that, for me, make driving these so enjoyable.tuttle said:

I've only had mine for about 6 or 7 weeks, but so far have only had the roof up once for a short journey to a meeting where the weather was looking a bit iffy.
Still, it's mainly a weekend car that lives in the garage - been caught out a couple of times when it's started to rain on the way home with the hood down, but just kept going (+excuse to get home a bit quicker!)
Agree that roof down at night on a nice summers evening is pretty good, as is early in the morning when the air is 'crisp' & not much traffic on the road

I try very hard to stick to my self imposed rule of; if its dry the roof is down. So much so, that I get quite unhappy driving with it up,- should make for an interesting winter!
I'm the same; no rain no roof is the score. And I do get crabby if I go anywhere with the roof up! I try and get it down at least once a day and the OH says I'm a nightmare to live with if I don't! She's right too! ;-)franv8 said:

Traffic lights are fine when it rains!Especially those normally-irritating multiple sets in which every light goes red just as you approach.
First set: Pull up roof.
Second set: Zip up window.
No, what always gets to me when it starts pouring down while I'm still topless (ahem) is this. Speeds above 40mph, aerodynamic effects cause all the rain to flow over the car, with none of it ending up in the interior. Speeds under that, you're about to get wet.
Guess how fast everybody else in front of you wants to drive when the heavens open?
