Can anyone suggest an insurer who accepts early MX5s as modern classics and who will cover a twenty one year old woman with a good driving record? Id be very interested to hear examples of similar premiums too.

Any help appreciated.

Hello,

If you fail that - I'm a 21 year old male, and my insurance with More Than is £700 fully comp on a 1.6 Eunos.

I have no "No Claims", no convictions or any claims.

Might be worth a go.

My insurance for my 02 plate 1.6 is £800. (I think its with Kwik Fit)

3 fault accidents in the last 5 years
6 points on my license

7 years no claims bonus tho. (Thank god for NCB protection)

Using that as a comparison, i dont think your car insurance will be that much just through a normal company tbh

These insure my '97 MK1 as a modern classic. However, it can't be your daily driver.

Thank you for the replies so far. It wont be a daily driver and the car will be old enough to be regarded as a 'modern classic': either a 1989, 1990 or a 1991 model. The trick seems to be finding a classic policy insurer who will accept MX5s as modern classics and who will consider a 21 year old woman (as opposed to a 25 year old as a minimum).

As far as I was aware most classic car insureance is just limited milage insurance. Some people with things like VX220s and Lotus Elises seem to have it.
