I'm arranging a pub meet on the evening of Thu 13th Aug at The Heron on the Lake in Fleet.
It's actually a Planet MX5 mid-month meet (we have a regular monthly meet near Cobham but also have a mid-month-meet that moves around so more people can get to it) but all are welcome.

I know there are a few people on here that are fairly local so why not drop in?

Details from the PlanetMX5 thread...

Helen & I went out for the worlds worst pub-crawl last night. We spent about 2 hours driving around visiting a load of pubs, checking out the size & lighting in the car park, going in and checking for areas that could be reserved for us, looking at the menus etc. and all without having a single drink frown

Anyway, we chose The Heron on the Lake in Fleet. It has a nice big well lit car park, a nice space we will have reserved inside, a good menu (most of the prices are well under a tenner) and as a bonus, it's just 5 minutes off the M3!
I also know the local roads well so we could do a bit of a mini-run for those who get there early enough :-D

There is a nice big decking area outside on the side of the lake, very much like at Silvermere. With any luck the weather will be good enough to be able to use it

They gave us a menu which Helen is going to scan in to add to this thread :-)

To help us out, could anyone who is interested in coming please indicate whether they will be eating or just meeting/drinking. If the numbers start to grow I can then let the owners know and they can give is a larger area in the pub wink

Excellent, hope you can make it.

Should have at least 15 cars there - any more takers?

My car is too much of a shed piece, I'd be embarassed. If I could find some way to fit a cloaking device.....scratchchin

Don't worry about that I am trying to make it and need another shed to park next to smile

Make that 3 sheds in a row! If at all possible I'll try to be there, albeit probably arriving quite late. Still, if it's getting dark the paintwork shouldn't be so obvious!

Well, if there's other sheds going then I might be persuaded. Just wanna drool over some half decent ones really,

shoutLazza!

I'm even sporting the latest motoring fashion accessory of L-plates at the moment so SWMBO can learn to drive, might even let her drive home!

I could be talked into offering passenger rides too. Sean (Rooflessdriver) has a very similar setup to mine and has just fitted a Larini mid-pipe so he would probably be up for offering passenger rides too (we could go out in tandem biggrin).

So far it looks like 20+ people (at least 15 cars) from Planet MX5 and maybe 5-10 more from PH and Nutz.
The weather is forecast to be good so it's looking like it's going to be a really good meet biggrin

The PlanetMX5 regular end of month meet is at Silvermeer just off the M25/M3 junction. The mid-month meet moves around the area. It would be good to see you though. Why not register and introduce yourself on the PlanetMX5 forum?

Why don't you come to the main monthly meet for the 'Cobham Commoners' - were based over on PlanetMX5. It's the last Tuesday of the month, so this month it's on the 25th. Check out details under the Cobham Commoners section. There's quite a few people around that area and with all flavours of MX5 and you will have no problems finding a passenger seat.
