My wiper arms look a bit tired and I have a bit of corrosion on the drivers side around the wind defector so I want to bring them up a bit.

I was thinking I needed to sand the corroded area, degrease and then spray with something like Hammerite http://www.hammerite.com/uk/products/ps_dtr_metal_... then just grease the joints and mechanism and then refit. Have I missed anything?

Strip them back , clean up the metal to derease it , spray with a zinc primer then a couple of coats of satin black , thats how i did mine , still looking good a year on.

That worked for me just a couple of months back - looks about 1000 times better.

I wouldnt use spray hammerite though, it just seems to clog up on me, useless!

That's where you're going wrong then - you should be spraying the wiper arm, not yourself laugh

About £30 each from MX5parts. Still more than I would have expected though...
