Just had an email stating that the dual exit exhaust is on special offer again. £169.95

I've got one and it's great!

A bargain indeed!

On the subject of MX5parts exhausts, I'm after a single exit myself. Those who have them- what do they sound like? I'm not after a very loud pipe, just a better sound really.

I fitted one of these a couple of years a go and at low revs it is no louder than standard IMO but when you cane it there is a nice metallic rasp and I get the occassional burbly-poppy noises on the overrun when good and hot smile

This is actually an IL Motorsports manufactured item and the build quality is pretty good but having said that, one of the silencer hangers on mine became cracked/loose at the weld and I had to get it welded back up to secure it and stop the incredibly annoying rattle that ensued. A £20 job though so not really complaining.

Ypu. ive got the single exit too. Sounds nice and subdued at idle, then at about 4000rpm it gets very raspy and 'old school sportscar' sounding, really nice.

I was just about to post about this offer too !

Anyone got one of these? Are the TOO loud?

Chavvy ?
I've got one on our 1.6.

Not too loud at all (but obviously louder than standard) and gives a nice rasp from about 4000rpm. I get a few pops on the over run as well.

I cut away the bumper using the template provided and then got the local garage to fit (£30 iirc) and dispose of the old exhaust. They were really impressed by the fit and quality of it.

I also changed the exhaust hangers as the old were tired and this exhaust is heavy so it wasn't sitting correctly.

You won't be disappointed! Get some new hangers, get it fitted then find a tunnel!

It's not too bad (My wife used to drop me at the station in the mornings so I used to listen to her driving away).

I get a few pops and bangs on the over run and it gets raspy at 4000+ rpm.

Give it a few days and you'll be used to it!

apparently they quieten down alot over time, so they are noisier at first until the carbon and soot builds up a bit on the inside smile

Well, on the back of recommendations to go soot up the Zaust, I went off for a great Hoon at about 10 last night.....

80 miles later of B roads and you have just got to love these MX5'ers.
But that set of exhausts do need a switch, it is almost impossible to drive through a Village quietly without thinking you look like a plank.

Anyway, more miles, more hoons, more soot - driving
That's the way to do it.

TBH it's never going to be as quiet as standard (certainly not if you like to use the higher part of the rev range) but it is addictive!

Hmmm, will have to have a look at replacement zorsts when I get back on dry land....

Talking of MX5Parts.com, they have number plate plinths for £10 this week - half price! Would have been handy two months ago when the guy ahead of me in the car park barrier queue decided to reverse without looking behind first! I decided to go with a stick-on plate, but I'm tempted to get one of these as a backup, or a few for ebay profit!
