I have recently noticed my headlights flikering slightly. Not on and off, just brighter dimmer. Any ideas, voltage regulator on the alt?

Thanks,

Ben

Could just be a bad earth or even a bulb on it's way out.

When I had this, it was a problem with the connector block that fits onto the back on the headlamp unit. I think the connectors may have loosened over time and was causing arcing which pitted and left deposits on the connectors.

I cleaned them up as best I could a couple of times, but this proved to only be a temporary solution. In the end, I got stranded after work in the winter with no lights and had to call out the breakdown guys. After that I bought a pair of new connectors of eBay and fitted those. Unfortunately, this meany cutting the wires and using crimp connectors (or whatever they're called) to fit the new connectors. However, the lights have worked faultlessly ever since...

Thanks but prehaps I didn't explain it quite well enough. It's almost inline with the engine revs or something, certainly it's a regular flicker rather than what might v
be caused by a bad earth or bad connections. I think a visit to the auto electricians may be in order.

Thanks
