Mk1 Mirror Glass Woes!

Went to fold back the mirror of my MX5 today to get my bike past, and SNAP! It came off in my hands as the bolt had rusted through.

Being the total muppet that I am, I managed to crack the glass prising the mirror surround off to get to the remains of the bolt. Can anyone advise the best places to go for new glass (and the likely cost?). I'm thinking that it won't be a standard replacement piece from Halfords.........

Is the glass in one piece, but cracked? If so, your local motor factor should stock a mirror glass that sticks over the cracked glass. Its not real glass obviously, but you wouldn't know when its fitted! You are suppose to put it over the existing cracked glass, assuming its still in one piece. It cost about a fiver IIRC and took 2 mins to fit......

Thanks for the prompt reply! The glass is cracked, but the backing is intact, although it seems to be cheap thin card.

Once I get a new nut and bolt for the mirror I'm tempted just to put the cracked glass back in - it will deflect attention away from the blistering arches!
