I will be attending my first Trackday on Friday at Bedford Aerodrome, can any one give me any advice regarding the best tyre pressures and what setting I should use on my KYB shock absorbers.

Any other advice or tips would be appreciated.

Here are a few pictures of my car.

Cheers

At bedford I ran 28psi without problems on the standard wheels/tires.

Advice? That 100 meter board before the hairpin really is your last chance to brake yikes (don't try that on the 1st lap)

The only thing you need to worry about really are brakes. If you have time, make sure you have good brake fluid in the system. And make sure you have plenty of pad.... 1st time at bedford I worked all the way through what was left of mine.

I needed 30psi with 195/50/15 Goodyear F1s but I do have quite a lot of power...
It's quite a fast circuit with some hard braking and also some very fast corners so it has a very good mix. The surface is excellent and very flat so you can get away with making the suspension pretty hard. There is masses of run-off pretty much everywhere so it's a very safe circuit. Just make sure your tyres & brakes are in good condition and have plenty of meat and you will be fine.

The left hander before the main straight - you will understeer. If you add power you will understeer more. Heading into the corner try a bit of trail-braking i.e. still be on the brakes when you start turning. This should put more weight over the front and reduce the understeer. Alternatively (the way the instructors teach) just tap the brake lightly mid-corner and the nose will tuck in.
You can see how tight I'm keeping it compared to the Elise behind me in this pic:

It's one of my favourite tracks biggrin

Off the power is where you went wrong (or right biggrin). You need the power on to keep traction and to keep the momentum going forward wink

Lift-off oversteer can be wonderfully entertaining...

Same colourscheme as mine. Green ones go fast smile

I did my first trackday a couple of weeks back at Brands and found that I was over driving it a bit and getting loads of understeer. Brake earlier and you can get on the power earlier (carefully, depending on the corner of course) and make sure you wind the lock off as you accelerate, and suddenly it doesn't understeer and you're going much better.

You'll come home with a massive grin on your face anyway biggrin
