If they do a half decent job we'll all want their no.

As that is about half what I'd expect to pay.

Keep us informed.

Well yes that is a concern. However, whatever it looks like it's got to be better than it currently is! Plus it'll need sills of some description to pass the MOT....yikes

I've seen some of his previous work and it looks pretty good so I'm hopefull about getting at least an average finish.

How cheap!! eek

I quite like your car in a Polo Harlequin sort of way hehe Still, will look nice and smart when done smile

Need to get my bonnet and bumpers done at some point, local place charges £175 per panel which I don't think is too bad, and does an excellent job.

When I dropped the new panels off on Sat for him to prep I asked him about the hardtop as well. £80 he says. Now obviously it's cheaper to do that with all the other bits being done as well. But still I think the last place I asked quoted £200.

Fingers crossed for a good job!

Just been down to see it and drop off a numberplate. The work on the sills looks to be pretty good (to my untrained eye).

And he thinks he'll finish it off on Thurs for collection Friday. Mind you there are 4 of them working on it!

I certainly will post the details up. Assuming I'm happy with the finished product. I wouldn't want to advise people now without seeing the results.

Ok people. Here are the results. Unfortunately it's wet today. Typical. All in it cost me £610.

And this left on the inside of the hardtop I wasn't best impressed with:

You werent impressed with that?

It was £500, you get what you pay for.

I reckon its bloody brilliant for that money, I was half expecting it to be painted with a brush at that figure.

C D AUTOTECH PROJECT CARS did the work. 01902 455411 or 07818 670072

Craig was the guy I was dealing with.

Based here:
http://maps.google.com/maps?q=WV1+2HY&oe=&...

Between the Canal and the Railway.

A)I'm no expert
B)I paid bottom doller

But I'd say the work was ok. I mean the window, mirror and door locks work (well the door lock didn't but I went right back and the guys sorted it...so can't complain). The welding and metal work he had to do appear to be much better than the attention to detail on the paint job. And do not expect the car to be valeted. (it's dusty and stinks of paint....well it has just been painted in a dusty yard/shed).

Still the sills will not fail the MOT and the car is all one colour. So he did exactly what I told him to, for the price he said he would, and when he said he would. Not sure I'd be happy if it was my dark blue C4 that was in the same shed and is now covered in dust/paint and crap from my car....but I suspect thats his to fix up and sell on.

Actually it was £450 + £80 for sills and £80 for the top. And I've found a free rag! I didn't complain about the finger marks as it was cheap. But it didn't need to happen with a bit of care...

Like you say overall I think I got what I paid for.

Plus there was a lass hanging around this afternoon with Massive tits. Possibly a bit young for me though.

Well spent a bit of time giving the car a clean and try and get some of the dust out of it.

I thought the hardtop would be tricky and there are a few red areas around the window recess. And they have a slight run on the paint over the passenger door but it's not terrible.

However we did also discover they managed to overspray onto the headlights. So spent a bit of time getting the paint off those with a washing up sponge/scourer.
