First of all, finally got round to whacking a couple of pics onto Photobucket, albeit rather rubbish ones from my phone.

Got to say I'm really pleased with the little 5. Awesome steering feel (no pas), decent acceleration and pretty good brakes as well. Love throwing the car around, although not many decent roads around my neck of the woods. Just getting in and putting the hood down brings a smile to my face. Likewise, reactions of family and friends who have had a little drive has been positive. Although I have had to concede it does look a little girly, still looks weren't the reason I bought it.

After a week of driving the 5, I drove the Astra, and I really couldn't believe how light the steering felt and how wooden the brakes were in comparison.

Couple of little problems will need attending to, the exhaust seems to be blowing slightly and rear window stitching needs a small amount of work but on the whole very pleased with it. The hood seems to have coped ok with the downpours we had a few days ago!

Anyway, I'm off to go for a drive then wash the car.

Lovely, exactly the kind of things I was posting up when I got mine.

And yes, it will make driving any other normal car feel absolutely terrible.

Nice.

Agreed the steering/handling (and also gear-shift action) in the 5 make many other cars seem very mundane in comparison. When I drive my wife's A6 Quattro Avant, it feels like steering a boat.. wink

This weekend I drove my 5 about 500 miles - Somerset and back, bit of a hoon down there, and then a 60-mile full-on hoon up here.

Damn, it's good fun. Brakes are a mite spongy and a bit more stopping power wouldn't go amiss, alignment needs doing (must phone WiM), and for real thrashing a little bit more torque might be useful, but for good old-fashioned zooming around with the top down... brilliant.

Agreed am deeply enjoying mine too, nothing like it. It's not unusual to pop out for a pint of milk & find I've had 30 or so mile hoon. Mrs T not so impressed by this behaviour! redfaceops:
