Rust proofing the MX5

I want to rust proof my mx5, on the arches, inside the sills. which product are best to use?

any other area i should rust proof?

I'm going to do the whole underside of my '5 soon.

I've been told to use the following steps:

1. Wire brush down any surface rust and dirt
2. Paint with a 'direct to rust' paint, such as Hammerite
3. Use Waxoyl or Dinitrol to build up the rust protection
