I realise that, I was just looking for an answer on the face of it, in the assumption that the car's a good 'un

On the face of it and assuming there are no hidden (or not so hidden) nasties then it looks like a good enough price. Can't say whether it ought to be £2800 or £3500 though...

Well, the chap was originally wanting £3,650 and on Fri evening, was absolutely refusing to budge an inch from £3.5k.

I left it at that, and this morning after a bit of to-ing and fro-ing, he has agreed to £3k.

Dunno whether this is a good or bad thing....

Any further advice folks?

Just been talking to the guy and he's sent me some detailed photo's, the car looks really mint actually, with 4 Toyo Proxes etc.

My gut feeling is that £3k is a good price, and in a year's time I should be able to get most of, if not all, back on resale.

or am I talking shyte?

yes

The seller has knocked £600 off the price, I assume you like the car, so why not buy it or look for something else.

No, it's too expensive. But give me his details so I can go and buy it myself.
