Hi been playing around on the net for too long now trying to find out if all 1.8 import Eunos roadsters come with a torsen lsd (and not the viscous lsd)I know with the mk4 Supra you can identify the torsen on the vin plate (axel numbel A= open, B= torsen)and want to know is there a similar way with the MX5 or Eunos import?

Hi, I think it's difficult to tell without taking the diff apart. I'm not aware of any info on the door sticker that will tell you what type of diff is fitted.

As far as I can remember, the post-1995 cars had a torsen diff.

miata.net has a guiide to all the types of differentials - there are externals differences I believe. You can check them with the back wheels in the air.

As far as i'm aware I don't believe that the LSD was hinted at on anything other than the spec sheet.

Most Eunos Roadster 1.8s had the Torsen diff as standard.

Thanks for your replies! Very tempted to try one! Had a go this week in a friends UK mk1 1.8 with open diff and was still impressed with how easy the car was to oversteer!

If yuo look in the garrage section in miata.net the have a spec of cars fitted with Lsd's and photos of how to recognise a Torsen diff.
