Bleeding brakes/upgrading to SS hoses?
Discussion
Hi all,
Still not really sorted my brakes since my accident in the winter - pedal remains relatively spongy. I think I need to bleed the brakes and change the fluid - is there a novice DIY guide on doing this somewhere? I have a Haynes manual but not sure if it covers the bleeding...
Also, thinking of getting Goodrich s/s hoses to replace the old rubber ones - is this worth it with a set-up of MX5Parts discs and EBC kevlar pads? Is it an easy job to install the new hoses?

how old is the car? my hoses were i believe the originals and quite stretchy. i think you get a bit more response from the ss hoses. the only thing you need to be careful of is the splitter block for the rear brakes, with teh goodrich set you have to do it up insanely tight to stop it leaking under pressure. otherwise it's quite straightforward.
however first things first, if you'd done your brakes but not bled / flushed fluid for a while, do that. half a litre of fluid is only a couple quid and it takes less than an hour to do a totally thorough job.
