Double din radio removal easy???
Discussion
At the back of the new stereo there will be a stud sticking out. Somewhere in the box for the stereo should be a rubber bung that fits over this stud. When the stereo is fitted into the car this rubber bung locates into a hole at the back of the opening which will hold it in place. The piece of card you are using shouldn't be required as the stereo shouldn't need to rest on the cubby hole anyway (the OP is fitting a blanking plate and not a cubby hole so there is nothing for it to rest on anyway).
