While in Wales over the weekend my front nearside (pretty sure it's this wheel) bearing started to make a grinding/whirring noise.
Noise gets louder if I turn right, and quieter if I turn left.
MX5 Parts don't seem to sell a front bearing, just the whole front hub with bearing. Is it possible to buy them seperately?
Cheers in advance...

Nope. The bearing is part of the hub and is not available separately.
Are you sure it's a wheel bearing? They don't usually just start making noise, it's usually more of a gradual thing that gets worse over the course of a month or more. Might just be a stone caught between the brake disc & backing plate or similar.
ETA: If it is the bearing then you need to make sure you get the right hub i.e. Mk1/2/2.5 are all the same but ABS/non are different.
ETA again: Also take note of this thread...

What makes me think it is the bearing is that as I speed up the noise gets louder, and as I slow it gets quieter, regardless of gear selected. The noise still occurs when braking, even under heavy breaking which I think rules out the brakes being a problem.
The noise started yesterday afternoon some time (possible before but I didn't notice it) and it is now much louder at 30mph than it was when I first noticed it.
Will have a good look around at it tomorrow on my day off and see if there's anything fishy in the arches. CHeers .

Took it to the local garage yesterday morning who confirmed wheel bearing. Cheapest he could supply was £170+VAT so ordered one from MX5-Parts at 2.15pm. Attempted parcel delivery at 8.15am but I had already left for work so have to collect it from the depot tomorrow morning instead. Amazing service from them yet again.
Just got to get it fitted now...
