Laminating MK1 rear lights?

I've just purchased some red laminating film as I want to tint my rear lights so they are completely red. Was just wondering if anyone knows or has doen it themselves, do you cover the whole light lens with the film, or just cut out smaller pieces to cover the non red bits, i.e the indicator and reverse parts of the lamp as the rest of the lamp is already red (didn't know if it would end up looking messy this way?!). I know this might be a stupid question but any tips are appreciated..... Cheers

Try heating the film and do it in one.

Most people simply buy the spray cans - far easier.
