My little 5!

It's spent all winter in the garage due to running two other cars, and throughout that time every frosty or snowy morning I have longingly looked at the garage before jumping in two sterilised german boxes for the daily commute.
One of them is rear wheel drive, one is front wheel drive, they are both capable machines... One called the ultimate driving machine, but today the 5 creakily emerged from the garage.
Yes she creaks when the doors are opened, yes she feels a bit agricultural, but after coughing into life, and a gentle 30 miles warming her up, I finally got to give her some beans down a Warwickshire back road.
Roof down, CD player skipping on every manhole cover, creaking in all parts of the car.... She felt amazing, and put a smile on my face that I tried to recreate by turning the DSC off in the bimmer, but failed!
Long live the much maligned little red roller skate. For a cracking B road evening in a car that has been in the dust for five months..... I salute you.

Should have listened to my senses in January and re taxed you!

I used my (ok it's brand new) MX5 right through the winter, getting stuck in snow drifts and running with the roof off most of the time - it's been GREAT !

(my first MX5 and loving it !!)

I missed mine all winter. Pure economics resulted in her being stuck in the garage ..

That's what they are all about!! I've been using the sterile german barge too much as well recently. Looking forward to clocking up some miles in the Mazda now the weather is getting better!

Agreed!

I can forgive the failed electric window switch with the times the hood goes down and the entertaining handling - and the power keeps me generally within the legal limits!

Mine has been in the garage under a cover since the end of September.

I wanted to get it out, taxed and MOT'd this weekend but the weather is st. Perhaps mid-next week.

I do wonder about using it as my daily car (as opposed to having the T5 too) but as it is absolutely immaculate I would cry when she saw some salt! Plus I'm worried that by using it every day I would ruin the specialness of having it for summer weekends only.
