What do I do with 5k and the desire for an MX5
Discussion
With freelance work slowing down at the moment, I've decided to trim down my new car budget to roughly 5k. I've always had a longing for a 5 after driving a couple of Mk3s and now think it's time to take the plunge. The options out there are frightening though... Mk1 (expensive) or Mk2? Diff or no diff? 1.6 or 1.8? I'm sure you get the picture...
So what do the learned folk of the 5 board think I should get?

How about this?

Some serious bang for your buck, and the owner's mate seems to think he spent crazy amounts of money getting it into it's current condition.

Yep, I'm the owners mate. Tim (the owner) did spend a hideous amount on the car and now is looking for around £5k for it. He also has quite a few MX5 bits that I am sure he would throw into the price. Nothing to hide with the car - he just wants to sell for a new project (although he has just bought a Pug 206 cc as a stop-gap). I think he is mad having spent over £17k but nowt so queer as folk and all that!http://www.pistonheads.co.uk/sales/969185.htm
