Hi all.

A mate of mine has just bought a Mk2 and is wondering if there is an easy way to disable the passenger airbag so that he may give his 3 year old a ride.

Have to say that he let me drive it and I was smitten. Used to have a 987 but the MX5 felt more involved and is much cheaper motoring.

Once the Crunch is over eh.hehe

You can't unless you get a special car seat from Mazda, which they no longer sell.

But a 3 year should be fine in the front. My little one is 2 1/2 and loves going in the MX5. Just make sure you have the correct kiddie seat and the cars seat back as far as it can go (which in mine you have to otherwise the isofix won't engage).

But I must warn you that will get a lot of differing opinions on how you should look after your kid, and not put them in anything smaller than a Hummer, so really you need to make your own mind up.
