will this fit in the car with the passenger seat taken out?
Discussion
evening all. I have a bit of a dilemma that I suspect some of you lovely people might be able to help me with.
I am currently in charge of my friend's degus (a bit like chinchillas) as she cant keep them in her flat. I am going on holiday in a couple of weeks time and I am trying to work out what to do with them. Their cage is quite large as they need lots of room to run around, which makes it somewhat tricky to get in the car.
If i can take them to my father's house with their cage, someone may be able to look after them for me, but I dont know if the cage will fit in the car. I know it wont fit with the passenger seat in, but having just measured it i think it might fit if i take the passenger seat out.
the cage measures 46cm by 62cm by 90cm.
with the passenger seat taken out i think it might just fit, but i wanted to know what other people think before i embark on this mission. has anyone measured the space after having taken the passenger seat out?

I forgot to say that if it was a short journey i could ofcourse just do it with the roof down and the cage sticking out of the top (that is how i got the cage home from the shop anyway), but this journey is 90 miles of motorway and i suspect that marmaduke and casperian wont like it that much.

How did they get to your place? To be honest, you're doing your friend a favour by taking them in at all - shouldn't your friend (who owns them after all) be responsible for arranging for their care while you're away?
the friend is my ex (although she is still my best friend, so I dont know if that contravenes some crazy law of nature ).they are at my house because I bought them for her as a present about 2 months before we broke up, but she cant have pets in her flat and her parents are frequently out of the country. I really dont mind having them at mine because i like them.
