paint not so glossy anymore

I've got a Brilliant black 94 Eunos. It was a right state when I got it.
However it did respond very well to good clay bar job, a bit of rubbing down in places, then re-polishing and waxing. Theres lots of guides online about this type of work.
Set aside a warm day and you'll be surprised what you can achieve even without powertools.
While I've not been able to fix all the swirling, mines now much glossier and shiner than when I bought it for not a lot of outlay.

At least you don't have the clearcoat flaking off like mine
Mines gone past that stage even - in places the clear coat has gone completely and the red colour coat has cracked into loads of little shapes, showing mostly the white undercoat. Doesn't seem to affect it though as it still seems to have some sort of matt coating over it all.Red cars seem to be a bugger for turning pink and then white

Oh my god I feel for you guys. Mine has the swirling too, no paint flaking yet only on the bumper which I intend to get re-sprayed first. I think will use the clay bar first, have already got meguiars last minute detailing and that always works well. But will try the meguiars car wash. Autoglym does not lather up enough. I have just had battery replaced with a westco one yesterday from Griffins in bury, £80.50 and today have replaced the headlight rims and hammerited the boot as the condensation caused surface rust in the battery area. Just waiting for it to dry now. I thought everyone else's 5 was immaculate. Wish I had a garage!
