Dashboard vent 'plugs' ?
Discussion
Never had a need to as the heater in mine is v. effective. Indeed the 5's heater's legendarily effective, to the extent you can comfortably drive with the hood down on a cold day. I would strongly advise checking your radiator fluid level = level in the expansion tank and have a butchers at the rad through the radiator cap hole (caution when hot!!) - the engine coolant system provides the heat to the matrix behind the dashboard so it may be you have low coolant flow? This would obv. be bad for the engine! What does your water temp. dial read after 10/15 mins of driving?
Hope there's nowt wrong with your motor FYI a sudden loss of heat from the vents may indicate sudden coolant loss

Dont panic - the car, and heater is fine. Yes, its blows pretty damm hot too.
Its just - on 4th fan setting its rather noisy, and at speed, without gloves, when the temp is hovering around zero, then theres just not quite enough heat getting to my hands - its dissipated by all the air blustering about.
blocking the 2 lefthand vents has the effect of increasing the blast coming from the 2 pointinsg at my hands just a touch more. Enough, perhaps, for the fan to be run on setting 3 and thus be a damm site quiter.
