I just put a deposit on a 1.8 54 reg MX5 Arctic in silver with a hardtop!

I pay in full later this week and my Dad is going to collect later after service, MOT, valet and new alternator.

The only bad thing is that I know it'll be here but I'll not be able to drive it again until I get back to the UK proper in Apr (I've only popped back for a week before disappearing overseas again til then)! Buuuut the first proper drive in it will be a wee hoon to Devon with my girlfriend to see her mates...

So! Any ownership tips?

I can't kill mine despite thrashing the life out of it and having 230bhp. The engines are very strong and are happiest when being thrashed

Well, I picked it up on Sunday from my parents place and drove it down south with the hardtop on but only as I had nowhere to put it until I got home...

Been blasting it around pretty much over since, even this in the drizzle this morning to work! Bloody great fun! The OH and I even took about half an hour to get about 500 meters back from the shops as we got caught in traffic and she knew a 'detour' that just so happened to be an endless winding country roads!!!

Amongst other things, I love the jealous look on peoples faces as we fly by!

I fking LOVE IIIIT!
