Hi folks,

I have been beavering away with the search function trying to work out what mk2's or 2.5's come with an LSD. Is it just the mk2.5 6 speed Sport or are there other models that have one?

How much difference would you say the LSD makes to the drive and are reports of them failing warranted?

Any help much appreciated?

I THINK all Mk2 on 1.8's with ABS also have an LSD but don't hold me to that.

The 1.8 diffs don't fail (I'm putting around 250bhp through mine) its the 1.6's that do (but not that often)

Or possible the OP is thinking of the Mk1 1.6 viscous LSDs that after a while just work as open diffs?

Post '98 Torsen LSDs don't break. Folks with boosted 1.6s fit 1.8 Torsens to their cars because they are much stronger.
