Asked in G+G and suggested I post here ( makes more sense )

I have one of these to sell ( I used to have a MX5 ) finally getting round to selling it.

Thinking of asking about £300 for it. That sound about right ?

It is black and in good condition, so thinking there might be better places to sell it than ebay, is the classifieds here any good for small bits like this ?

Cheers guys

Price depends a little/a lot on both the condition and if it's a genuine Mazda hardtop or an aftermarket one.

IMHO if it's a genuine one with a heated screen and in good nick, 300 is cheap, 400-500 is attainable.

Looked at it this evening, it is a Original Mazda one, in good condition ( I never used it ). Probably stick it up for £425 see where that gets me, apart from here any good places to advertise it ?

Doctor bone has first refusal but if any one else is interested I will give a PH discount of £50.

I am near Heathrow.

So, it's gone from £300 to £425

Ebay's your best bet

No I was asking what I would get for it, seems for a good condition original one £400-£500 is achievable, so I thought I would stick it up at £425 with a mind to take offers within £50.

Thought I would offer to any PHer first without haggling for £375 ( £75 over my guess at what it was worth, and £50 less than I would ask for in a ad, plus I have even offered to drop it off if local ).

Fair enough mate, it's your product so you can do what you want with it. The way I viewed this thread is that you were thinking of asking £300 for the hardtop - if that's the case ask the £300 for it. If you're not sure what these things go for it would have taken 5 minutes or so to check ebay, the OC, Mx5nutz or wherever to get an idea of price.

It just seems to me that you've started off with a £300 price and now it's at £425 - why not £500?

Good luck with it.

Cheers bud.

This isn't wasn't suppose to be a advert ( although it does seem to have turned that way )

No i started off asking here how much it was worth. Genuine question ( get a honest answer here V quickly rather than spending time trawling the internet).

Seems even for a non original one £300 seems cheap, £400 seems about right for what I have. I am not looking for top dollar ( would seem to be around the £450-£500 ) as I would have to wait for a buyer at that price, but like wise I am not going to sell something at 25% less than lower end reasonable price and let someone else sell it quick sticks and make a easy £100.

I am only asking for £75 ( £375 ) more than I "guessed" it would be, that isn't a massive jump and it is still cheap for a original so the prospect of me demanding £500 notes for it seem strange.

Basic selling, add a little bit extra ( haggling room ) and hopefully sell for £400, thought I would quickly offer to PH for a small discount as it was here that helped me in the first place plus it it what i would save with fees selling else where.

Kinky mate, if you get it let me see a pic of what it looks like on a Vin Rouge coloured '5. I will be getting a hardtop next winter if I keep the '5 and it'll be black.

I think it will look great, but proof is in the pudding as they say!
