i have a 2006 mx5 2.0 sport roadster. i dont have the bose system just the standard stereo and was sure that the head unit was compatible with mp3 cd's. The dealer is useless and just waffles that you need to have the i-pod adaptor. even the instruction manual talks of using mp3 cd's

Am i right or wrong please get back to me asap as the car is at the dealers at the moment.

I think some are and some aren't - that goes for the Bose stereo as well.
If it's MP3 compatible I think it has an MP3 symbol somewhere on the stereo fascia...

Make sure your discs are authored as pure MP3 audio discs, as opposed to a Data Disc with MP3's on it.

It might not like the folder system on a data disc.

I'd ask the same question on OC forum. There are more Mk3 owners on there.
