After coming out of the supermarket and getting in the car I managed to drive over one of those sticking out bits of kerb that are in front of some parking bays (the ones you can't see when in the car). It made a grim scraping sound along the right hand underside edge. There seems to be no visual damage but just wanted to check that i've done nothing serious, if anyone has experince in kerb crawling let me know! I'm an idiot and should have checked what was in front before driving off but its been a long day!!!

Usually you hit the exhaust but it sounds like you hit the floor rail...

Probably exposed the metal so worthwhile sticking some waxoil, grease, paint etc on there (but not essential)

Yeah, usually exhaust or possibly chassis braces if you've had any additional braces fitted.

I think it was the floor rail as it was only the right hand side the went over the kerb. I'll have proper look at the weekend to see if some wax/paint is needed. At least it sounds like i havent bent or cracked anything. Should be getting the new suspension next month so will have to be extra careful!

Another quick thing, whats the best paint or wax to put on my self until I get it done professionally by a garage in the summer when my sills get sorted? Is it something i'd beable to do, car on jacks and blocks then me getting under ( don't want to get squashed!)?
