hi all just need a bit of advice. IN autotrader there is a mazda 1.6 1993 its in london so you all could have alook jusy put postcode in so it covers london, its up for £1450nwith private number plate ELZ4791 all sounds good but is that to cheep do you think? they have had it for 6 months and was inported in 1999. Hopefully going on sat to see it any advice would be good as a brought a lemon last time and i dont have anyone to go to see it with me . thanks mandy

No idea on the car Mandy, but using your experience from last time should stand you in good stead.

I was going to say it looks expensive to me, but it does look like it's been looked after. The number plate is worthless, its just a cheapo Irish plate. I would be bidding him a grand for it tops. Maybe settle for £1200?

Don't forget, it's winter, the car market is on its arse, and if your offer doesn't make you cringe with embarassment then it's not low enough!

That Merlot was stupidly cheap.

And the mileage wasn't mentioned, a good one would be at least twice that.

Most Merlots are currently advertising at around £2.5-£3k, with a few over. I have an active interest!

An MX5 specialist recently offered me £2.9k for mine (straight sell not PX). That said, that Merlot did have highish mileage and the owner was obviously desperate to sell - in the worst climate/time of year to do so.
