Has anyone ever retrofitted central locking to their Mk1 using either MX5parts' kit or a different one?

How easy is it?

Where do you take power from?

Very simple really, many alarm fitters add this option.

Why? You can (easily) reach the passenger door from the drivers seat!!

Why though? I see you're like me with one practical car for the week and the Mazda is purely for fun... keep it simple, light and like LA said - spend the extra money on fuel ! smile

Could understand (a bit) if the '5 was the only car, although even then it goes against the grain of simple lightweight sportscars!

Just my 2p! nerd

PS. If you really want it, it you can get the kits from Ebay or MX5Parts!

Oh I agree on the keeping it light business, and you're probably right about the locking being unnecessary. I've been trying to think of ways to shed weight anyway but I don't see how, short of removing the interior! biggrin
