Yes it's a lot of money. But all of our cars bar this one are users - this one may well appeal to a collector. Not something that I think most of us on here are, but I can see the appeal for somewone with a fleet of highly polished rarely used cars. It is, after all, an icon.

It's been for sale for a while, and I think that is a reduced price! I very much doubt it that it will sell at that price.

For a car of that age I'd like a bit more mileage on it, I'd like to know it's been driven and not just sat in the garage for 360 days of the year.

Na, I bloody hope it is!!

Seriously though - I also think that may have been reduced. Its been on there since the summer.

Ridiculous price to be honest. Its probably actually not in that good condition, engine wont be as sweet as one thats had a bit more use.

I know this is wrong but is always see cars which haven't been used in the same light as someone making a sandwich and taking a bite out of it once every fortnight.

I certainly wouldn't pay the thick end of ten large on that.

Quite. If you really wanted to spend 10 bags on an MX5, imagine what you could have...

An absolute track weapon, running big power, trick suspension, very lightweight, etc etc...

I completely agree with what everyone has said, and I also think it is well over priced! That said, there are some purists out there that would love to get there hands on something with that kind of mileage! As the advert says, perhaps someone would have given their right arm to buy this when it was new but couldn't afford it. That person might now be better off and so this is the next best thing. How many of us have said to ourselves about a particular car, 'I'm gonna buy one of those one day'? Yes you can buy a lot more car and better for the money, but it might, just might appeal to someone.... Don't think I'll be making an offer for it though tongue out

I don't think it'd go to someone who wanted to use it, since it would drop in value/condition/specialness to a normal average Mk1 very quickly once the mileage increases.

They can ask what they want for them - but let's be honest - they're only worth what someone will pay. And to be frank, I can't see anyone paying that money for a 5. Not even a hardcore collector.

IHMO utterly absurd pricing.
