Repairing roof seals

This weekend I'm hoping to try to repair my roof seals by plumping up the rubber seals with some thin tubing. I've heard of other people doing this with great success. What I really need is a step by step guide guide, preferably with pictures. Does anything like that exist? I'd trawl the internet myself but I will got shot in work if I spend too much time on here and I don't have internet at home at the moment.
