Some of you may remember my boot corrosion problems of late - replaced with a westco battery, vented correctly, metal cleaned back, rustproofed, primed, and sprayed.

So why now have I got that white powder appearing again? irked

How long ago did you do it? I cleaned out all the white powder and it's been spotless since, and that's with a normal "not recommended" car battery

Perhaps try one of these things in the boot, that's what I'm doing to absorb the moisture from my car cover :

It was the end of August. Nothing really being carried in there. All the powdery stuff is around the battery...

If I ever have any time to myself I will clean down the boot completely (although I'm fairly sure I did it at the time...)

Is the battery venting properly mate ? also this time of year they get a bit damp in the boot due to condensation , the exhaust is underneath and heat soaks up into the boot and makes it sweat

Well, I have both vents from the battery connected to the vent in the boot via a T-piece, but the boot vent could be blocked I suppose...

I'll give it another clean out and see what happens...
