Hi all,
Been looking at some new wheels for my MX5 to replace the standard early 14" alloys, and was looking at the Rota RBs. I like this "style" and think it suits the MX5 perfectly, and think these wheels look fantastic.
The only thing that sticks in my mind is that I've heard some people mention their weight. Has anyone got any experience with these wheels, and whether you notice any difference with them? Or suggest any similarly styled (and available to buy in the UK) alternatives?
It's these or some 15" BBS', which are like swaying equine excrement it seems.

OEM BBS 15's weigh 11 lbs and are forged so that would be my preference. Rota RB's weigh about 14.5lbs and are similar to Panasports, Minilite and RS Watanabe wheels. The Rota's are cheap imitations although they are very popular and made in the Philipines. RS Watanabe & Panasports are made in Japan to a very high standard.
I am a self confessed wheel we and not a great fan of Rota. They imitate every classic wheel out there (to a reasonably good standard)
key specs for the BBS are 15x6 - ET45

Such a shame they're not silver
Where exactly can I buy them new? Or ones of that style? www.moss-europe.co.uk doesn't list them
Are the Rota RBs that bad?

There's nothing wrong with the RB's and they're very popular for £500 or so including tyres or £370 without, it's just for my money I'd rather buy a 2nd hand set of Panasports or Watanbe's as they are the real deal as opposed to imitations.
Brand New they would cost over £1k without tyres so not cheap.
