Just asking for a friend... hard top has just been fitted for winter, there is a demister on the hardtop but the wire from the chassis loom can't be found. Of course the mk1 plastic rear window doesn't have a factory rear demister! frown

Is there one there wrapped into the loom or is it non existent?

An auto-elec quoted £100 to add in the wiring (and a switch I presume).

Thanks!

You should find one on the passenger side of the rear deck - take a look under the carpet, near the passenger seatbelt's top mount. Not sure what you need to do at the switch end, but I'm sure someone else will be along to advise you soon.

Yeah I suspected so - I've seen other cars with the wiring already in place, just need to unpick it from the loom and source the switches/etc.

The switch & connector were options from Mazda. You should still be able to buy it from a main dealer.

Also available from MX5 Parts:
Harness
Switch
Fuse block
Relay

The parts you will need depend on what you already have fitted...

Thanks for the info, I'll pass it on (it's not my car!).

Cheers.
