Basically, Im 6'6 and wondering if Id fit in a '93 shape one? Looking at buying one, but the nearest one is miles away. Any advice from our taller members?

I'm 6ft and fit in. But I dont have a lot of extra space between my leg and steering wheel and the seat is right back. But i'm lanky. I'm sure taller people than me have said they fit in the MK1.

Are you mainly leg or body? smile

I struggle to fit in my Brother's Mx-5 and I'm a big 6 ft 2 lad, my Dad is also 6 ft 2 and he can fit it better, I have problems because my thigh bone is too long!

I'm thinking that might be a problem then if it's not got a smaller wheel than mine. My 1997 wheel is on the large side though...

At Dunsfold Wheels & Wings a few weekends ago a 6" 7' guy tried mine and a Mk3 and couldn't fit in either. He could just about get his legs under the steering wheels but his eyes were at the same height as the windscreen surround so there was no way he could have actually driven it. My car has Elise seats so has about +2" head-room and well over +6" leg-room and that was till not enough. I'm sorry to say I think you'll find you are just too tall for the car.

If you're prepared to lose the adjustability you can put a race seat a lot lower than the standard ones... just a thought.
