Hi All, looking for some advice on selling my GFs MX5, been tring to sell for a month or so, but no real luck. It is 1.6 and in great condition, I realise the market is definitley slow, any advice on price etc.

I do love the MX5, everytime I drive it, it puts a smile on my face, but the baby on the way means it will have to go!! frown

Thanks

Hmmm. Difficult one as seems a nice car - hamstrung by being a 1.6 though and there are lots of 1.8s for around your money. Why not drop price to under 4 (phsycological) and sell the hardtop separately? I'm sure a decent hardtop commands 4-500 on its own?

Hate to say it but it seems a wee tad on the high side for a 1.6 - I know the price includes the hardtop but psychologically it looks dear.

Try dropping the price by £500 and selling the hardtop separately. You might still get the same money overall.

Your location will be limiting your market. Are you an OC member? If so, you could try selling on www.mx5scotland.co.uk

At the end of the day, it's worth what someone will pay and you have to decide how much you need to shift it and price accordingly.

Never thought of selling the hardtop separately, as you both mention perhaps the sub 4k will be the way to go. I have never joined an owners club as it is my GFs car, although have to admit I really enjoy driving it!! driving

Do you think the advert is ok?

Cheers
