What are we all using, with our 185/60/14 standard Mk1 1.6 wheels?

I've got Yokohama S306s on mine and they're slippery as hell in the rain, great in the dry.

Goodyear Eagle F1 GSD2s, but I don't think they're being made any longer. 14s won't fit over my brakes now, so they're sat in a stack in the garage.

In 195/50/15, I've tried GSD3 (great in the wet, good in the dry, melt on track) and Yokohama Parada (okay in the dry, awful in the wet, not a huge amount of grip, but progressive and didn't melt on the track).

i used toyo proces CF-1 as a cheap mid performer, they were ok. but i've since moved to 15" just for the better rubber available.

I'm lost as well. Currently on the GSD2 F1 tyre. But cant get them any more. I think I might try the Falken 519.... But I'm torn between a number of average options....

Goodyear F1 GSD2 (If the gods shine on me and my local guy comes through....)
Falken 519
Avon ZV3 (again.. ok but dont age well)
Dunlop Sport Fast Response

Indeed. But...Dunlop. Really. Dunlop. Well known but hardly ever mentioned for lightweight cars....

Couldn't easily find F1 or T1-R in 14", so fitted 185/60/14 Goodyear Hydragrip. Progressive in wet or dry, with no sudden surprises. Virtually no wear on trackdays, but still progressive on the limit. Consistent and predictable oversteer if desired, quite confidence inspiring. Didn't overheat despite 20 min+ sessions on track, not much sidewall flex that I could feel.

Yoko C-Drives, because they were all I could get hold of at the time in the right size. I'd rate them as a pretty good mid-range performer. They're fairly compliant without losing too much sidewall stiffness too, which makes a big difference to the ride quality when paired with the stupidly stiff import Bilstein suspension on my Mk1.

They seem to be lasting pretty well and they work in the wet too - both big surprises coming from Yokohama!

I use the Avons. Not a bad tyre but they do seem to wear a little faster than I might like considering that I don't have anything to make the car more powerful.

Well I have opted for the Dunlops. Despite some of his suppliers showing the Goodyears they turned out to be "phantoms" in the system.

We'll see how they go at the Nurburgring at the end of the month.

You can get Toyo T1-R in 195/55 14 which is the same rolling diameter as the 185/60 14.

That would be my choice.
