Well the wife picked up her new MX5 (1.8i coupe) on Thursday and hasnt stopped grinning since. After taking it to Newquay on Sunday and on the return journey to Plymouth she overtook a Mustang GT500 the grin got even wider.

Is this something I need to get used to from now on, I drove it down and loved every second apart from the bit of the clutch being too high.

Yep, it was like being behind the wheel of my first car again. Nice to see another PH in Plymouth by the way

Thanks for the welcome, for my sins my company car is a Mazda 3 2.0 Diesel, but she is selling her Sport Ka to fund this one. I am the Bodyshop Manager down at Vospers Marsh Mills so got a great deal.

I think she has had a negative effect on the weather though because since she has had it its done nothing but rain.

No, you can blame my colleague for that. He bought an Elise 111R last year at the start of may - just as the great weather ended and the rain started... and it's hardly stopped since!

I've been grinning (on and off) for ten years since I got my first MX-5. Hope you get some sunshine soon......

Yes. Very much grin factor.

Not entirely sure what you mean about the Mustang though, presumably she was grinning from being able to hear it so well with the top down?

It was an 08 stang and didnt make much noise, but the 70's corvette behind it certainly did lol.

I've had a bit of experience repairing stangs check out vospers.com and go to special projects on the accident repair section Also check out eleanorhire.co.uk to hear it in action
